We all know by now that focusing on renewable energy is the only way to save money and protect the environment, as well as to reduce dependence on foreign sources, as evidenced by the current crisis.
According to a study conducted by Aceper (Association of Consumers and Producers of Renewable Energies), which brings together 10,000 renewable energy production plants, 7,000 members, and a total installed capacity of over 2 GWp, the Italian region with the highest amount of photovoltaic energy is Piedmont, while the region with the highest efficiency in solar energy production is Aosta Valley, followed by Emilia-Romagna and Piedmont.
The survey was conducted on 5,236 photovoltaic systems across 17 Italian regions. A region’s efficiency is largely dependent on the ratio between actual PV production and expected PV production, which is estimated using the official measurement tool PvgisVGIS (Photovoltaic Geographic Information System).
Piedmont, with 139,917,414 kWh and an estimated production of 162,741,031 kWh (86%), has risen to first place for the amount of kWh generated by photovoltaics.
